Flora Session

The next installment of the Fairy Flora series.... anywho....don't mind me, I'm pulling a 10dayer at work and I'm already starting to get a bit loopy, and this is only one day over what I'm used to working. I did a bit of fill-ins and started the stems to some more of the brambleberries, or whatever those black-purple things are....
Tomorrow I'm dragging Legolas kicking and screaming from his hiding place. My goal for September is to at least get the rest of the page done that I left off on. Heck, I'll be happy if I get the majority of that page done......(monotony people, monotony, ick)

Celtic Christmas session1

It's not much too look at yet, I'm just glad I got this far. Too much trouble getting the fabric in the frame and other problems. I just hope I can find the missing needles without involving my feet or my DH's!

Rickman

Here's the latest. I'm almost sorry to say that Mr. Rickman will be going on a month's holiday. While he's gone, Legolas will be filling in. The second page of Rickman has gotten a bit old, compared to the 1 page and most of another I have left for Legolas. If I'm lucky, maybe I can get a good chunk done so that I can get him gone and bring another to work on.

I'll be participating in a SAL for Celtic Ladies (Lavender&Lace's Celtic series) that Carol has put together. I'll be stitching Celtic Christmas on Silkweaver's Sudden Storm. I have everything but the beads, but who needs them this early? Though I will have them by the time I need them. Tomorrow I'm sending DH out to have a working copy made (trust me, if I don't the original would be a big mess and unreadable by the time I finally figured out what I did) Should be able to start her within the week or so depends on what the days bring.

Can't be Comfy

As you can tell Angel is a big girl, how she can be so content in this small box is just not possible to my mind. She was curled up tightly inside the box while I was waiting for the camera to boot up. I've got her and her "brother" fighting over this box, boy will they be unhappy when I finally toss the thing. Didn't realize they'd claimed it until I found some of their toys in it......

Here is one of two small projects I've finished this evening. This one is by Victoria Sampler, her state heart series. Some of these specialty stitches are going to drive me crazy. Though in this one it took me about 10 minutes or more to figure out how to stitch the small pink flowers. One good thing about this project is that I think I've finally figured out how to do lazy daisies. Not pretty but trust me these look better than the ones that I've done in the past....
This is by Erica Michaels, called Greetings from Maine. I know it's another cutsie thing, but there's not many small projects that aren't. I'm going to see how many of these I can stomach stitching to make a few ornaments this year for a few people I know.

Flora Time

I have found the right hand side to Fairy Flora! First I thought the pink was going to get to me. Now that's mostly over, it's the purple that's giving me fits now. Can't win. Anywho, not bad for this round. Personally, I'm quite pleased so far.

Rock Star in Training Finished!

A day late, but here is the promised photo! Rock Star in Training by Designs by Lisa. Cutsie ain't it? I mostly stitched this on a dare from my DH. Tomorrow Fairy Flora will be taken back out, I can't wait!

Bike Run

Started out on the toys for tots run (it was through the shipyard and according to the "pep talk" they've been doing this for 5 decades, and was focusing on the orphanages this year.) with fairly decent weather, but the rain hit us about mid-way or so. I'm horrible with geography, miles, directions etc. But a bit past ossippi(or somewheres about), NH, my group decided it was time to split and head back home instead of continuing to Loon mountain. I'm a little disappointed, never been there. Stopping at the diner was nice though. Oh well, by the time I got back to my friend's house, I was drenched through and through! Now I'm just tired, sore and feeling a bit icky after being out in this and the nice hot shower I took didn't seem to help it much. Oh well. Kudos to the members in my group (if you're reading this then more and likely you'll know who you are :D ) who showed up and joined the crowd, even though they had no clue where they were or where they were headed. Takes guts to do that, or a very good cause.

If I feel up to it, I'll post the picture for Rock Star in Training later, I barely have the initiative to type this. But it is finished.

no stitching tonight

I didn't get to any stitching last night or tonight, it was just too hectic around here. Between work and home, I'm exhausted, and it doesn't seem to be letting up anytime soon. Won't get to stitch tomorrow night either. On a bright note, on Saturday I'll be riding in the toys for tots run. I'm not sure if that's the exact name for this one, but it's bikers, it's toys for children....eh.

All I need for the Rock Star in Training is the blue star button/charm. As soon as I can get to a craftstore I will be hunting one down then post the finished product.

More on Flora

Here's the result of this week's session on Fairy Flora. I've almost found the right hand side of the project, just off by a few stitches. I almost hate to put her away. But I will. Have to get something done on the others.

Since there was a death in the family, I didn't get as much done as I had planned. Too busy making phone calls to make sure that certain other people in the family knew. I hate it when you have to find out about a death in the family through the newspaper, just isn't right, but then again, I'd compare this side of the family as the famous Hatfield and McCoy feud. Ooof, sorry folks, but I'll leave that alone from here on in. I just had to get that bit off my shoulders. On brighter notes, I've almost finished the Rock Star in Training by Designs by Lisa. So I should be posting a picture of it soon.

Rick

ACK! It looks like Mr. Rickman has gotten a nasty looking rash or something. The things one sees when stitching......eh, I've found the right side of this row of pages.

ooo, Carol made a good point in her comment. We all seem to have a differant way of attacking a pattern. I usually find the middle, do that page and move on. Fairy Flora is the first pattern I've worked with that was all on one page. I was a bit perplexed at first, but gotta start somewhere right? Too each their own! :)

I've been trying to update the look of this blog as I find ways of going around my wonderful low knowledge of html. Fun city! 8-l anywho......nothing much of note around these parts.

Flora

Didn't get as much done as I would have liked this round, but, at least I've gotten most of the outline for the dress done, so hopefully in the next round I may be able to start hunting for the right hand border......

Rock Star in Training

Here's the progress so far of Rock Star in Training by Designs by Lisa. I should have it done in a few more weekends.

As for work it has been quite hectic. The new system of doing things just isn't cutting it. Can't do it anymore! The paycheck will look good but the physical and mental health isn't doing so hot. I'm hoping (as well as a few others) that the boss man will change it back real soon.

Due to popular Demand......yesterday's pattern when finished, drum roll please!

Or near enough......I made this one the same way I did Legolas, (and still refused to "clean up" the pattern...tooo daunting) though this one was made a year or two before hand. (There is another picture of Rickman I made but at this rate, I'm not sure I'll get to it anytime in the fore-seeable future....)I had to re-look up this photo, since I've changed computers a few times since then and no matter what DH thinks, not every photo came over with the last switch-out!

On a Roll!

We are on a roll with this one! I've finally started on the second page....only took me 4 years to do it! o_O Eh, progress is progress right? Since this is a nine pager, it should be awhile before I finish it off. That's if I don't take it out of rotation at all this time 'round. I'm notorious (sp?) around here for starting things, getting bored and starting something else (and no Jenn, I haven't forgotten about Legolas, I'm just sick of looking at his face....he and I need some space), then start again....can we say DH doesn't keep track anymore...

Thanks Carol! Any and all support I can get I'll take! I'm hoping I don't go and get pink dementia before Fairy Flora is finished. The real test is can I get over the pinkyness since I'm not working on her everyday......hmm....

To all who like Baseball.....don't take this wrong, but I can't wait till the season is over. I don't want to clean up after anymore double A teams. Can we say disgusting? Football season is coming up and DH loves the Patriots, but at least then I'm either working when they're on tv or else he buys me extra batteries for my diskman....I don't have to clean up any messes they make at least. (or since I live in NE it would probably be the opposing team, like with the BB we get.) Anywho, today was very trying. I'm heading to bed a little early tonight. I have a hunch that we're going to have a very long weekend. Still got my fingers (and toes) crossed that this is wrong, but you never can tell......

Back to Fairy Flora

Things are getting a bit interesting now. Luckily I'm used to the constant colour changes, after stitching a few pictures I put through a cross-stitch program, if it hadn't been for that I'd be going bonkers about now. As you can see I've found the left hand side of the picture! Even though I had the day off, I didn't get much stitching time in. I didn't get all the errands done. Thought I had till I got home. Nice time to figure things out. Oh, well. There's always tomorrow. This evening wasn't that bad humidity wise, so I picked up one of my small projects and spent some time stitching on the front porch. Haven't done that in a few years, for various reasons.
